About the Host City – Bikaner
If ever beauty has bloomed in deserts, it has been in Bikaner. Founded in 1848 by Rao Bikaji, the city is located in the north-west part of India. The city holds attention for its fascinating architecture, engaging culture and rich traditions. Amongst various temples is Deshnok Karnimata (Goddess) temple, which is well known on the world tourist map as a temple of rats. The monuments of unique art and sculpture can be traced in Rampuria Havelis and even in old houses of the city, famous for stone carvings. Afew kilometres away from the city is a wild life sanctuary and perennial lake at Gajner, where several mammalian species of zoological importance inhabit and migratory birds come even from abroad. Several delicacies of Bikaner like Bikaneri Bhujia, Papad, Mishri and Rasgulla are famous all over the world as delicious edible products. Bikaner not only attracts tourists, researchers and scientists, but also Bollywood as well as Hollywood film industry. Indeed monuments and desert sand dunes of the place create an effective impression on celluloid. Many prestigious schools, multi faculty professional government and private colleges in this city impart high quality education. Bikaner boosts of its National Research Centre on Camel, Swami Keshwanand Agricultural University, Maharaja Ganga Singh University,Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences and Bikaner Technical University. Besides these Acharya Tulsi Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, P.B.M. Hospital is one of the biggest centres in India for cancer treatment. The city is well connected by air with the national and the state capital and by train with the major cities of India.








About the Host Institution – Government Dungar College, Bikaner
Government Dungar College, Bikaner, is one of Rajasthan’s premier institutions of higher learning. The college has been accredited A-Grade by NAAC–UGC for three consecutive cycles (2006, 2014, and 2021), reflecting its commitment to academic excellence and quality education.
Founded in 1873 as The Darbar School by Shri Dungar Singhji, the 20th ruler of Bikaner, the institution was later elevated to Dungar Memorial College by Maharaja Ganga Singhji on 25 September 1912. By 1951, it became one of only five postgraduate colleges in Rajasthan.
Today, Govt. Dungar College stands as a vibrant centre of higher education, offering 30 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, along with Ph.D. research across all three faculties.
